Is 120 Fuji Reala Actually Discontinued?

I've read on internet that 120 Reala is discontinued, elsewhere that it is still being manufactured. What is the truth? (B&H is out of stock. Adorama is out or nearly out. - both possibly?? for good??)

(I was lucky to get the last chunk of Adorama's stock of this great color neg film. After this is gone, it will only be the weird looking Kodak Ektar 100 left for ASA 100 120 format color neg film.

There was a post here from someone in Japan with a link that claimed Reala 120 was discontinued. A later post clarified that Reala 120 is discontinued in Japan only.

That's news from Fuji almost half a year ago. So Fuji is still making 120 Reala, correct?

120 Fuji Reala is freely available in the U.K, but the 135 stuff is discontinued. Fuji seems to have a different policy from country to country and Fuji Japan probable leaves it up to the individual countrys film devision what it wants to import based on the sales figures.

I bet that Fuji's film manufacturing dept and its Japanese film distribution dept are completely separate entities in terms of ordering/supplying stock.

Your'e quite right it's not imported, but the decision of what's going to be sold in which country based on the potential market for the product is a commercial decision that the company is entitled to make.

Confirmed: I went to the film store(s) this morning here in Shanghai. 5 stores selling film, all previously stocked to the ceiling with Reala. Today, nothing. I'm crushed. My favorite color film gone. I was going to buy 15 boxes of 5 rolls if it were available, but I couldnt even buy a single roll.

I bought a box of 160NS. I dont know how that compares to Reala. I hope a bit. I am not a big fan of Porta and I really dont like Ektar.

Such a miserable day.

Ektachrome E100G (single roll and 5-pack, discontinued by EK this is old stock)
Provia 400X (single roll and 5-pack)
Lomography X-Pro 200 (3-pack - probably Agfa AviPhot Chrome 200)
Rollei/Agfa Crossbird (single roll)
Rollei Digibase CR200 Pro (5-pack)

In Color Negative, at least, there are a couple alternatives to Portra and Ektar.

I just checked on Taobao (China's Ebay) and found a lot of Reala still available. I'm going to buy up as much stock as I can. Hundreds of rolls if possible. This summer is going to be the Summer of Reala for me.

Amazing that Fujifilim is down to a single color negative film. Absolutely amazing. Why the heck don't they make Superia in 120?

The Rollei Crossbird is actually a twisted C-41 film, so the DIY-people might add this film to the negative film listing.

They make both 160S and 400H in 120, as well as Reala which is not discontinued.

Damn Fujifilm and their endless confusion. So I'm just caught between runs? I could not find Reala at any store today and that is VERY unusual. I have never seen any let up in stock at the stores I frequent.

Superia 400 seems to have reappeared recently in 120 after not seeing it for quite a few years. I thought I saw superia 100 somewhere recently but a quick check has drawn a blank. Reala is still in stock in a few places but supplies seem patchy.

I mixed up films!! too much birds around...

The Crossbird is of course not a twisted C-41 film (that would be the Redbird), but a plain C-41 film (though maskless), just designated as E-6 to be processed that way.
So, no DIY-abilities needed to use it as a C-41 film.

Why shoot it all at once? It's gone. If you can stockpile some at this point do so, and spread it out in the future. Freeze it. Shoot it slowly thereafter.
