I had a chance to see the Irving Penn show last week at NYC's Morgan Library.
I expected to like the show ... why else would you go, but I was really blown away by the prints.
I'm somewhat familiar with his work from books like Worlds in a Small Room but many of these shots I hadn't seen before. Beautiful work by one of the great masters of black and white portraits. IMHO.
