Since the passing of Bettie Page, I became interested in looking at the photographs of her that are on the Internet.
As I have not seen any original negatives or prints of her, I am only guessing that the majority of images shot by Klaw were done with a 4x5 Graphic press camera with a single on camera flash bulb for illumination. Equally guessing that a film such as Super XX was used.
I think I read that Klaw used to sell contact prints of her, which would lead me to believe that they were shot on 4x5.
Does anyone here know if my asumptions are somewhat correct? Has anyone actually seen original negatives shot by Klaw or original prints. I'd love to know your observations please.
With thanks,
Sam H.
