I dislike the filters off eBay, the last genuine Hoya I bought was great until it was humid and fogs like Leo & Kate were standing next to it, it's an old version of Hoya's MRC that bubbles and doesn't handle humidity well. After that experience I'd just prefer to wait till I can afford a B+W filter.

I have ePrey supplied Bower 720 nm and no-name Chinese 760 nm IR filters that so far, after two years, seem fine. My genuine Kodak Wratten Series VII 89B from 19-ought-64 still works too; used it in August on my Yashica 124G! Prices on the Big Names(tm) are a trifle sobering for infrequent use.
That's true, I probably won't use it much either... But... If I'm shooting an image through my Mamiya lenses, why would I put black market glass in front of it... I guess it's worth the extra to guarantee the glass is clear and reliably dark red for IR

I use the affordable Chinese eBay filters. They work fine, though I have no way to verify the stated transmission wavelength. Used with HIE and also d*****l long exposure with acceptable results.
