If I cover the film slot window on the back of the Bessa R with lead tape can I shoot IF film with it? Just how sensative is the Bessa R to IR leaks? Thanks, Cosmo

not sure if this helps, but I covered the window on my Nikon N90s with black tape & aluminum foil and have had no problems with IR film

Was it the film ISO window on the back door you covered? That sounds like what I need to do. I was going to cover it on the inside.

A piece of black gaffer tape on the outside of the window works just fine.

I just used black electrical tape. The film preview window is the one thing I don't like on Bessas. Cosina should offer a windowless door as an option.

I've shot IR film in a Bessa-L and a Bessa-T without covering the window, no problems at all.

But come to think of it, I have them both in cases...

Is the focus off at all with the Bessa. I have a 35mm Color Skopar.

I used a 21mm lens, and didn't notice any focus offset. But with that lens DOF is so great that it would most likely be sharp anyway!

Thanks Ole. I guess I will order a filter then. That and some film.
