Well, after about a thousand posts or so, I suppose I better introduce myself, as I was looking at some recent introductions, and realize I had never done that.

I live in Utah, and I make the bulk of my living as a cinematographer, shooting 16, and 35mm motion picture film. I also shoot a fair amount of video, including HD. I shoot a decent amount of commercial stills, and I've been pushing the "Art" side of my work pretty faithfully for a while now.

I have found that constant commercial work sort of beats the creativity out of me, so thats the biggest issue my photography faces.

I have an awesome little boy, who is 4 1/2 and has taught me more about life than anyone I have ever met.

I love APUG and all the people here. I'm quite proud to be a regular contributor, and I try pretty hard not to be obnoxious. Once in a while I fail, and for that I apologize.

Anyway, greetings, hello to all, and long life to APUG, film, and all of us glacial erratics!

Seems that for a newcomer you've been around a long time.

Thanks for the 'belated' intro. Your contributions are always welcome.

Phill

Love the trailer for the DVD!

Hey J, anybody who doesn't come near being obnoxious at least once in awhile is not to be trusted. Nice to know more about you. Keep adding to the knowledge base here. I always learn something from your posts.

This is like dragging home a barfly, spending a long weekend together engaged in mind numbing acrobatic sex and then finally sitting down on Monday night and saying, by the way, my name is.................................. and I like teddy bears, quiet walks in the country, penguins, and cuddling.

IT'S A LITTLE LATE FOR INTRODUCTIONS BUCKO.

Geez, what happened to the cuddling? And what do I do with this penguin now that we're finished with it?

Hi, Jason. I'm still fairly new here (it takes time to get to know a site and the associated personalities) and I am happy to have this chance to say, I really enjoy your posts. You've made me laugh and given good information, and for that, I say "thank you".

I don't know where in Utah you are, but southern Utah has been a "vacation destination" for me for some years now, and is a challenge and a joy to shoot in.

Along with a great many others, I'm happy you're here!

Howdy Jay,
When I first saw your avatar it reminded me of something I had seen before and it turned out to be a shot of Fred Imus by Don in a photography book they did in 1997.(see below) Not sure Jim Galli would care to claim Don Imus as a photographic influence?!

Hey J, anybody who doesn't come near being obnoxious at least once in awhile is not to be trusted.

I agree if it's an overflow of righteous passion and not a cruel personal attack on someone it's a good sign.

Like stargazer I can't really welcome you, Jason, because you got here before me - and stuff like that only happens on Star Trek shows!

Enjoy chatting with you, and, as Whitey notes, if you can't be obnoxious with you friends who can you be obnoxious with? :D

Welcome from someone who started after you. There are some normal people here.

I'd really like to know what you are going to do with the penguin. Please tell me you won't leave it alone with Blansky.

So tell us Jason - how does it feel to know that you'll be remembered for your sneeze more than for your photography?
