Hi there,
I'm just new here and I wanted to introduce myself.
Great work of Sean that he create APUG!
I started with photogrphy when I was 15. My grandfather gave me his old camera and taught me the basics. I have no any photography educations but I did a lot of experience. When I was around 25, I bought a Nikon FE2 second hand which I still have and works. Last year I bought a Nikon D50. I don't like it, but I have to use it for my work sometimes.
I also had a darkroom which I sold last year. But now I will start a darkroom again 'cause I discover that digital is not what I thought.
I want to share with you for what reason I prefer analogue.
1 - Analogue has a bigger contrast range and colors are better and warmer.
2 - Higher and finer resolution.
3 - No strange artifacts like moiré or halo, which you have with digital.
4 - With an analogue camera you can photograph longer without replacing or
charge batteries. The battery of a digital camera is already empty after
two day. What if you're in the middle of nowhere
5 - Digital is not trustable for long storage, one small mistake and it's all gone.
I've been two times in California and I'm glad that I took all photos analogue instead of digital. I photograph for years with a Nikon FE2 and it's a very trustable camera. Enjoy my website, all work was made with my Nikon FE2
