intrigued by medium format

If the lens is clean and the shutter works it should be fine. Repeated cocking and tripping the shutter at its slower speeds may cure the stickiness, if not, you still have some useable speeds there.

I tend to use the 620 cameras the least. Respooling isn't difficult but with so many other choices, why bother?

There aren't that many great 620 cameras -- Medalist, Chevron, Kodak/Nagel Duo 620 ... couple of others. The only 620 camera that I regularly use is the Duo 620. The Medalist is big, heavy and awkward.

I think 620 was a useless format. It brought nothing new to the table, so there was no convincing reason for manufacturers to switch from the much more established 120.
