Well, folks, isn´t that the cat´s meow? I´ve been interviewed on Argentinian TV, because I was out photographing with my 5x7 in San Telmo, one of the neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. I don´t know when or if the interview will air, or exactly which channel to find it on, but the program is called "Rolando TV". They insisted on conducting the interview in English. I was asked about photographing with a camera like mine, and why do I do it, and how hard is it to travel with such a thing. I´ll ask around and see if I can find anyone who knows about this program, and how to find it on TV.

Congratulations!
I guess lugging a Lf camera does have its merits!
Try it on a more exotic place next time, you never know...
Now you are "The Flying Camera - As Seen on TV!"
Did you get any tango scenes?

Maybe I should mention that I was also interviewed by a paper and a TV station when I was staying in a youth hostel in Salvador, Bahia in Brazil. Somehow being Greek fascinated them because the only thing I had on person at the time was Ernesto Guevara's Dairy of a Revolutionary War...

Well, good for you 'Flying'! I've noticed that using LF almost always gets curious and interested attention. I hope the TV piece is a good one.

That's cool.

I've been wondering if Argentina was named for silver? Anyone know the history/origin of the naming of the country?

Nice! You are now an ambassador for large format. Hopefully that interview will get some people in Argentina interested in trying large format. Awesome accomplishment.

Ciao!

Glad to hear the trip is going so well. Will you be returning with a copy of the clip? It's customary in many places to give the interviewee one. Or will they be posting it where the rest of the world can see you?

Congrats. That's very neat.

Yes, I believe that Argentina historically had silver mines and continues to have gold and silver mining.

According to what I was taught in school while growing up in Argentina, yes, the name comes from the latin word Argentum which is silver.
