My good friend and fellow photographer Tim Morehead has just finished an interview he conducted with Shelby Lee Adams ("Appalachian Portraits"). It's a great read with lots of points to ponder. Tim's blog is primarily meant to explore an artist's motivation rather than technical aspects, which I appreciate very much.

Thanks for posting this and you are exactly right about my intentions. This blog is about trying to find out what makes and artist an artist. It is about their individual experiences, personality and uniqueness that makes them who they are.
The interview with Shelby will probably be of interest to those here especially because he is a LF black and white shooter. And he makes terrific images.
In the near future I have another interview coming up with a world famous black and white 8X10 shooter. If you would like to be notified when new interviews are posted just let me know and I will put you on my notification list.
Feedback on the interviews and images is always welcome.
When Cheryl mentioned the interview with Shelby Lee Adams what she failed to mention is that I also have a very personal and revealing interview posted with her as well.
Cheryl talks candidly and truthfully about the motivations behind her work. Whether you personally know her or not, after reading the interview, you will definitely understand what drives her to make the pictures tat she makes.
The interview got bumped to the second page of my blog when I posted the interview with Shelby. If you can make time it is definitely worth the read also.
