intervalometer compatibility

I have a Canon EOS Rebel G film camera. There are a lot of intervalometers for sale, but they only specify the digital Canon's that work with them. What digital camera specification should I be looking for which would be compatible with my camera?
 
May be there is a digital connection between digital camera and devices , I used EOS 1000 but there was no connector. Are you sure your camera have an interface for the device ?

Yes, I know all about what's available and what the specifications are. The issue is that they do not provide specs for film cameras. If there are any Rebel G owners who have any experience using the submini jack for remote firing, that's who I'd like to hear from if you also have a canon digital where the same device works on both.
 
Manual for the Rebel G can be found at Butkus manual library - Rebel G and it doesn't have a jack for for the TC-80N3. It does have a jack that supports the RS-60E3 listed in pg 63 which does not have an intervalometer function. I know the EOS1 & 3 supports the TC-80N3 but not even the next tier Elan 7 does.
