Just listening to CBC Radio International when the book "Prague Through the Lens of the Secret Police" was reviewed.Sounds like a fascinating read with great photos.
No model release required as all the subjects have "disappeared"!? There was an exhibition in Sydney a year or so ago displaying crime scene photos from the 1920s as I recall. Most from 8x10 glass plates from the police archives. It's interesting the difference context can make to first impressions of a photo. I wonder what the reaction might be if the book was called "Photos from old Prague" or something equally innocuous - how differently they might be interpreted?
I gather the photos were reprinted from old secret police negs.
There was mention of 2 Russian cameras one of which was a Robot. The cameras were concealed in women's hand bags, ergo the photographers were female.
(Or Czech cross dressers).
