I just stumbled on this link on Kodak's pages. It is about motion picture, but since the difference is small, I think this document holds much value for all of us too (also in the light of the "How film is made" thread):

It is a really nice informative and readable document, including pictures and graphics as well. Probably one of the best introductory documents on film I have seen up to now...

with the amount of completely analogue-ignorant youths now probably entering the film industry, incidents like a youth pulling open a canister of exposed-but-undeveloped film thinking it is the film set's candy bar box, are probably a daily event
