I have gotten a iiif with a leaky curtains, it is also cupping, I am thinking of replacing the curtains and cleaning the shutter, are there any resources for it on the web?

If you had to choose a camera to learn basic camera repairs I think an early screw thread Leica is possibly the best.

I managed to repair a IIIa back in the early 70's and it's still functioning perfectly today, although I've no idea why :D

The reason I say that is because they are easy to take apart in a way that you can see exactly how they work (and everything still functions) before going further.

Would I recommend it ? I'm not sure now. If the camera was a real beater, had cost next to nothing perhaps.
