Yesterday while flying home from India, I had to make a connecting flight in Chengdu China. While at the airport gate I saw a group of young Chinese, maybe in their early 20's waiting for the plane. They were obviously on a group trip to somewhere in Chengdu. They were partying it up nicely enjoying the ending moments of their trip. What were they doing? Taking all kinds of group pics with their Fujifilm 210 Instax camera! First time I ever saw one of these cameras "out in the wild". It was pretty cool to watch them, snapping photo after photo. After each shot, the person with the camera just gave the BIGGEST smile you could imagine. Clearly she was totally into instant film. Great to see film out there making folks happy. The large, clownish Instax 210 camera didnt seem to slow things down at all.

I just wish that they'd make a more high end Instax camera. Does not need to go up to pro levels. Just something beyond the toy they have now. The film itself is really quite good.

Fujifilm could kill the impossible project if they went after this market.

They made the FP1. (larger format)
There is no instant camera beyond the Instax series listed on their japanese website.

The Instax series consists currently out of 5 models plus design variants, 4 out of the 5 are in the Instax mini format.
The standard Instax one and two mini Instax ones have got two-distances focussing and programmed-AE.
The latter three are also listed in Germany.
