Instant cameras. Awesome concept. Expensive endeavor. On average, mediocre results. I've always loved the 'instant' genre, but I never really got into it until about a year ago. Got an RB67 with the Polaroid back, and really enjoyed it, but lugging the beast around for a few fun shots wasn't worth it, so I bought a few (too many) Polaroid Land cameras. Did the battery conversion, and it was great. Decent images, and lots of fun. But, alas poor Yorick, pack film has been discontinued by Fuji, making it cost prohibitive until further notice.
In steps a Fuji Instax 210 at a thrift store. Hmm. Ok, I'll give it a try. Finally got the film for it today, and took one shot with it, and I must say, it's really great! It's sharp, good colors, nice all around. The camera itself is a bit weird in the hand, as I guess it's designed with kids in mind, and it doesn't 'feel' like a camera, more like a toy, but that's ok.
Not sure really where I'm going with this thread, other then to say I was expecting a lesser quality image, and was surprised by the results. So if you're thinking of getting an Instax, I think you'll enjoy it.
