My sister has a problem with her CAMEDIA E-10 - as mentioned in the subject, cover inside the lens is stuck and unfortunately in a closed state. During turning the device on and off, I can hear small motor running from the lens, but this does not move the cover.
I have unscrewed and opened the device, but the design is way too complicated for blind repair. Lens looks like the hardest thing to get into, as if everything is built up on it. I want to know at least what am I looking for .
Any experience or ideas? As I am familiar with general mechanics, I can only imagine that some part is not aligned or broken due to some kind of shock or simply age.
I'm not familiar with the terminology. Both viewer and screen are showing completely black image. Inside the lens I see that something is blocking the image receptor. I call it inside cover, since it is inside and covers something .
If I am not wrong this is a digital SLR with a fixed lens (at least they claim so @ digitalcamera.de).
There is no "inner cover". If the camera powers up and the viewfinder and the monitor stay dark and you say there is some kind of cover inside the lens, most probably the shutter and the mirror are stuck.

Thanks. I have noticed also that this motor sounds drain the batteries quite a lot. Problem is that professional repair costs more than the device itself. The question is if I can actually fix anything after taking the camera apart and to the smallest pieces.
Hi,
Tell your sister she bought the wrong camera.
She should have bought an OM-1 or an OM-2.
BTW, this isn't the forum to discuss digital products. There are other places more suitable to that like the sister forum DPUG.
Good luck.
