Has anyone heard of this paper listed at B&H? If so, has anyone used it?

I don't think it's a "darkroom" paper, just some fancy ink jet material. (Although, on second look, I don't see 'MultiTone' in the descriptors, but the 'Inkpress' brand, as the word suggests appears to be under supplies for non-darkroom printing.) This stuff is getting tricky these days.

It might be interesting to try it against Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy, etc. when/if one does digi-prints.

Dave, the sources for this stuff seem to be all over the place. Tricky is an apt word. Amazon U.K. apparently had it but it is no longer available. Other sources seem to describe it as inkjet paper which can be used in a darkroom under amber safelight. Not clear how once exposed to light while being inkjet printed you prevent the light adversely affecting it. Yet another source suggested that it gave a range of grades 1-4. I presume this meant 0-4 which is what Tetenal says about its RCVC paper. If this is correct then maybe it is Tetenal made, as Agfa and Ilford give all grades from 0-5. There is even sources on e-bay but once you click on them the paper is unavailable. At best I found prices close to what I'd have to pay for Ilford but it wasn't available. However there were sources where the price was outrageous but that may have been Inkpress genuine inkjet paper. The whole thing was a complete mess.

OP, sounds as if your best bet is direct contact with B&H. Let us know what they have to say. Thanks

Fritzthecat, any idea who makes it? . The description confirms grades 1-4 only which suggests Tetenal paper. Funnily enough there was only one stockist I could find in the U.K. and that stockist is reporting that it is currently not available but certainly B&H seems to have plenty of it The good news for we Brits is that it seems if B&H prices are about the U.S. average then Kentmere and Fotospeed U.K. prices are very close and in some case have the edge with 5 grades available. Well six actually 0-5 but I suspect that Multitone is really 5 i.e. 0-4 although less than 1 isn't mentioned

No idea who makes the paper. It meets my budget, I'm a pensioner (aka old fart). I prefer it to Ilford MG IV, I find it a bit richer all around. Contrast grades seem about one grade harder than Ilford for the same filter. I prefer the pearl finish, more closely resembles FB glossy without the ferrotyping (air dried).

Hmm - agreed! When I looked earlier, a search on the brand at B&H showed nothing in chemical-based papers, just inkjet -- but I also couldn't turn up that "MultiTone" stuff (at B&H). Enh, it's them Russian trolls I tellya!

Edit: Aha! The OP said "Inkpress MultiTone" if I look without the "Inkpress" I get something. It appears cheap enough to try if we hear some good reports. I often use 8x10 or 11x14 RC for quick contacts of my pinhole shots.

I'm always curious about new materials, but then pretty happy with the couple of Ilford products I use for my limited printing efforts. Guess it's that usual trade-off between going with what I know works and experimenting with potential wild goose chases.

Thanks all. Sorry for the misleading name, the Adorama site has it listed as "Inkpress Multitone". B&H doesn't.

I saw the "Inkpress" in the title of this thread and didn't connect it to the Multitone that I've used on-and-off since the early 2010s. It is perfectly satisfactory as a working paper; I wouldn't use it for gallery prints of course but is of a nice quality and has not presented any durability problems. I might be mistaken but, when the paper first appeared at B&H, it was thought to have originated from Asia, probably China, but nobody definitively pinpointed its origin.

I've used it. I bought it just to try. it's ok, nothing special, which is to say I'd buy Adorama paper over it any day because I like Adorama paper and it's 1/2 the price.
