Is anyone using inkaid to prep fine art watercolor papers for inkjet printing?

I came across the work of Carol Hicks in the latest issue of Silvershotz magazine.

The visible paper texture reminds me of my gum prints on Rives BFK.

And FWIW, I thought the current issue of Silvershotz was one of the better issues I've looked at in a while.

I've been meaning to play with inkaid but not gotten around to it yet.
