Good Evening, Eddie,

Ektapan was a film which had similar speed and spectral response to those of the old Vericolor II film. It was normally used in studio work when both B & W and color negatives were needed; its nominal speed was 100.

Royal Pan was a general purpose film with a nominal speed of 400.

Fine Grain Release Film is a very slow film (paper speed) intended for making B & W positives from negatives.

There have been several recent posts on each of these films.

Ektapan was a B/W emulsion, an "improvement" on the other EK films of about the same ASA ratings. Royal Pan was a very high speed black and white film--ASA 1200 iirc, I believe with extended red sensitivity and grain the size of golf balls. Fine Grain Release (asa 8? 10?) was for making negatives from negatives, I believe without having to be reversal processed, but don't pin me down on that. This is all from memory so don't go to court with this as evidence.

Ektapan is a nice portrait film, made until fairly recently. I have some in 8x10" that I use occasionally, and I've used some in 11x14". I rate it at EI 50 in ABC pyro 1+1+1+7 for 10 min. targeted for Azo G2. You might back that off to 8 min. or so for enlarging paper.

Royal Pan was ASA 400 (Royal-X Pan was the super high speed film). I posted some experiments with it here--
