Three day workshop:
Sat October 16, 2010 noon 4 pm Introduction and hands on instruction
Sun October 17, 2010 10 am 4 pm Field work (outdoors weather permitting)
Sat October 23, 2010 10 am 4 pm Making prints and discussing results
The Instructor Andrew Hess
Mr. Hess has 30 years experience working professionally with large format cameras. He is an accomplished fine art photographer, master printer & teacher who specialize in classical processes and museum presentation printing.
Description:
This is a basic introductory workshop in large-format photography using the 4x5 camera. Topics include camera set-up, lens and shutters, film handling, using the hand-held light meter, and basic camera movements. Classroom instruction, supervised shooting and darkroom time are included. All equipment and facilities are provided.
Prerequisites:
Basic B&W darkroom experience is required.
Supplies:
Equipment, facilities, film and chemistry will be provided; students provide their own photo paper.
Catalog Class #: 50, For Ages: 16 and over Enrollment limit: 8
Cost $170 (VMFA members $155) for complete three day workshop
