In memory of Thomas Eugene Tomosy

Thomas Eugene Tomosy is known to many of us as the author of classic repair books on cameras and lenses.

I wanted to find out more about him and found this information.

According to this, Thomas passed away in Canada in 2023 at the age of 84.

Based on the information given, I assume that this is the author in question.

I have two of his books, and even have a shutterspeed tester he sold for a while. I corresponded with him about designing and selling an autocollimator. He made a prototype, but it didn't go into production. He was a good man, and I'm sorry to hear of his death.

Without Thomas' books, I probably wouldn't have gotten into repairing cameras.

For me, his works are the basis and continuation of the topic.

I therefore owe a lot to Thomas.
