I have been around for a couple of months now, I fly by the alias of Uncle Bill on the photography forums and I am from Greater Toronto. I am a proud fan of 35mm and while I shoot 80% black and white, I am not a snob about it I love shooting colour as well. I play in Pentax screwmount, pre AI Nikon F, Leica M, Contax IIIa/Kiev III and a Canonet QL17 Giii. I am 37 old playing with gear with the same average age as myself, there is something about a mechanical camera I just love playing with. I am in building material sales by day, in school at Ryerson at night for the public relations certificate and I am an analog photographer by passion.

I live out in the suburbs of Toronto(905 to the locals) but I can be seen prowling Kensington Market or any other neighbourhood in the GTA with one of my cameras looking for the right moment. My photoblog is http://funwithcameras.blogspot.com. I would like to say APUG has to be one of the most complete resources for analog photography out there and some really nice people.

Cheers
Bill

Welcome Uncle Bill. Nice to have another Toronto person on board.

Welcome from a fellow 35mm advocate in the U.S. There are those here who will try to turn you to the "Dark Slide" but for me 35mm is a wonderful unique format. Give me a Nikon F loaded with 36 exposures of Tri X and I'm a happy guy.

Funny I was downtown a few weeks ago with a NIkkormat loaded up with Tri-x and it felt satisfying. I usually shoot 100asa Neopan Acros in my Nikon F's. I love the solid construction of the Pre AI Nikkor and Takumar M-42 lenses.

Welcome Bill,
Bill is giving a hand on the Apug Conference in the way of some PR and misc writings. I for one, am glade you've joined!

Hey Bill, greetings from me, as well. Seems just like a week or so ago we met!

Have you decided whether to pull the trigger on an OM? I'm heading for the Midwest tomorrow. I'll take the SPs, an OM-1n and just a couple of lenses, mostly b&w but also some high speed colour print for inside people shots.

Hey Bill, just a note from another Toronto guy.

Cheers!

I am looking at Gene's OM-1

Hey Earl,

I am going to pull the trigger on Gene's OM-1 in a few weeks. Its a 15 minute drive from me in picturesque Port Credit and I think the transaction will occur over a pint of the dark stuff and the price is fair as he did a full overhaul on the OM-1. Whereabouts in the midwest are you headed? I have some family roots in Minnesota (grandmother on my dad's side of the family).
As for high speed colour, I am partial to Fuji Superia Extra 400 and 800, I love the results.

Bill
