Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has seen the show at St. Louis Art Museum. I just got the catalog, and it totally made me think to go to see the show.

Was it a big show containing a lot of these beautiful prints? Any descriptions of the show would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Warmly,
Tsuyoshi

Good Evening, Tsuyoshi,

I hope you had a chance to attend to show. After putting it off for months, I finally went today (last day of the show). The show was sizable and had a good representation of works in various processes. I had not previously seen original Autochromes, and I found those especially interesting. It was also interesting to watch other patrons using the museum-supplied magnifying glasses to examine details in the prints.

If this show moves to other museums elsewhere, I'd recommend a visit.

I was there on Saturday. It was neat to see in person some of the work of photographers whose names I'd only seen on forums.

I did learn a few things and found myself thinking about other things a little bit differently.

St. Louis has a really great museum. They have a very impressive collection of German expressionist paintings and some big Anselm Kiefer pieces that aren't likely to go on tour anywhere else. It's not a place I get to often, alas, but it's definitely worth a road trip for anyone in the region.
