Thank you for introducing me to yet another photographer that I have never heard of until now. :smile:

Browsing her name shows her to have been a very prolific and much published lady!

I have just bought a book, which gets very good buyer ratings =

Imogen Cunningham, Photographs 1910-1973

of which I found on the following link, whom I have used many times and found the sellers to be excellent to deal with at good prices;

I guess can't help you ...
I have only one of her publications : After ninety
'' ...previously unpublished photographic portraits as well as selections from Imogen Cunningham's earlier work confront the condition of old age and testify to the wisdom, dignity, despair, and loneliness of the elderly ... ''
It's a reprint from the late seventies and you can get the hardback for affordable rates. Love this one very much!

I was fortunate to meet Imogen while at an Ansel Adams workshop in the late 1960s. I was already aware of her work while she was living in the Seattle area. During a midday break at the workshop, it was my great pleasure to chat with her; when she asked where I was from I have a vivid memory of the twinkle in her eyes when I said "Seattle." She was about 85 at the time, still the very tiny woman that she was her whole life. I was always amazed at how she managed to lug an 8x10 around. I can attest to the effort required to do that, as 85 myself now I still struggle with my 8x10 Sinar Norma. My body seems to remember the years of backpacking in our local mountains with 4x5 Sinar and smaller cameras, but it's fast becoming more stubborn and resistant to the demands I ask of it.

One of my favorite photographers ever. I picked up several photo books of her work a few years ago used on Amazon for just a few dollars. A guy named Richard Lorenz did quite a bit of writing about her and her work. She lived a very interesting life and hung out with the art and photography luminaries of the San Francisco area in what may have been its most exciting time.
I was introduced to her work about 50 years ago when a documentary about her was shown st my high school. I was immediately a fan.

She is pretty well known for her nudes but I personally love her work with plants and flowers. Some of the stuff she did with black and white is outstanding.

The only book with her photographs that I have is Imogen Cunningham; Ideas without End. It is good but I can't say it is the best. I think it was pretty popular with libraries because you can usually get it for a pretty low price.

Imogene was a delightful, hip, passionate old lady...a faithful anti-Vietnam-war activist, famous for her many anti-war buttons :smile: She did most of her late-life work in medium format. I first met her in San Francisco's Haight Ashbury district, toting some Mamiya TLR...she eventually shifted to a Fujica 6X7, needing a rangefinder to focus. Talked with her about Ali Akbahr Kahn when I bumped into her at one of his San Francisco performances.

In case you haven't already seen this: https://www.imogencunningham.com/
Her grand-daughter, Meg Partridge, is a talented artist in her own right. Ms. Partridge manages the Imogen Cunningham trust. She is fascinating to talk to and seemed very approachable when I met her. I bet she would be happy to make suggestions.

Ron was a pain in the patoot. Told him NOT to dry mount the prints we made for him (to make a shoji screen). He insisted otherwise, destroying a bunch of lovely Cibachromes. His mother, Imogene, was the brains of the family :smile: And a better photographer. Ron Partridge:

I have the "Ideas Without End" book. Highly recommended. I'm quite fond of her "Portraiture" book, both are edited by Richard Lorenz.

I've got the Portraiture book, also Flora and On The Body (edited by Richard Lorenz, published by Little Brown)- all excellent and I'd thoroughly recommend them. See also Group F 64 by Mary Street Alinder.
