Image Pro Tabletop Film Processor

Hi all,

I've come across a company that is looking at offloading three Image Pro Tabletop Film Processor for around the $100 AUS mark. I'm particularly new to film developing (although I have done a 'course' on it through a tertiary education program it was so long ago I've forgotten it all). I'm looking to develop my own E6 120 film (generally Provia 100F and some Velvia 50, potentially Astia 100) to save on long term processing costs.

Is there anything in particular I should be looking for/at when buying one of these units? I have been informed it can handle the E6 dev process.

On a side note, does the paper backing on a 120 roll come off during the development process, or does it get removed manually prior to developing?

Welcome to APUG. Happy New Year. I am unfamilar with the unit mentioned. If it works properly I would think that 100 Australian dollars would be very resonable. The paper backing for 120 film is removed and discarded prior to develpoment by removing usinf your hands.

The processor would probably benefit from being hooked up to a temperature control valve. To save money on E6 processing it is necessry to have sufficient volume of film to develop to use the chemistry up before it expires from age.

I've decided to pass on it even though it's probably a good buy, I don't have the room to get a darkroom set up in my current place, also my volume of film shooting is fairly low (1-2 rolls every two months or so, even less lately), so on third and fourth thought it doesn't seem particularly practical.
