But, Camille is ready to start planning the trip, it will be my Birthday Present !
She is wondering why I need to take the 4X5 ... I had no explanation for that.
We will land in Salt Lake City, and take a quick detour through Idaho,
and then on to Wyoming, and Montana.

What Is There To See, Or Do Out In There ?

And should I take the 4X5 ???

Our plans are not yet made for 2011. In fact, our plans for the rest of 2010 are vague. Just keep in touch. I have lots of new stuff on emulsion making to share along with the salt bridge for vAg which is near final.

I do recommend the Formulary though whether I'm there or not. Lots to see and do. (I'm buttering Bud up!)

Oh, the train station in Whitefish is a Museum and includes some unique photo items. Also, try the Walton Inn in Glacier Park.

Good possibilities in the smaller, less touristy ranges: Pioneers, Gallatin, Crazies, Tobacco Roots, Bridger, Flint Creeks, Beaverhead Range... and the Beartooths (gorgeous).

For towns, there's only one place to go for groaty character: Butte

Don't miss the "ghost town" at Garnet. It is quite a drive, or at least was in days past. They may have paved the road by now, but garnet is something to see, indeed. The old hotel and store are a wonder indeed. I've been twice and the store was better the second time. the old cabins are worth seeing, too. The whole thing is worth the trip. And of course, you need to spend some good time in Glacier Park. Watch out for the bears. They are not to be played with at all. They are grizzlies and do drive the bus. Don't even consider getting your picture taken with one. You might wind up making a nice meal for one. Not to be fooled with. Mind what the Rangers say and tell you about them. The scenery there is not to be beaten anywhere else and is perfect for your 4x5 and any film you choose to take. I take TriX when I go. PlusX if you can get it. Efke 100, FP4 or whatever you especially like. Just enjoy some of America's best scenery!

While Yellowstone is nice, Glacier National Park is far better for photo ops. The St. Mary's Falls trail (about 2 miles) is unbelievable.

For the 4X5 I'm thinking about using some ERA 100 B&W, Ektar 100,
and some "AnyChrome?" 100.
I got a pack of ERA 100 last year, $12.00 for 25 sheets. I'll probably
start shooting a few sheets this weekend so that I can get familiar with it.
I just need to get the developing times for ERA 100 4X5 using D-76.
It's not listed on the Massive Chart for using D-76.


P.S. : JNanian; what are the B's ???
