I'm in Redlands, CA for a couple of days. What to shoot?

I'm teaching a class at the University of Redlands till Wed. afternoon, so I have Monday and Tuesday evenings free. Last week, I went to Joshua Tree and shot some. Many scoped the place out for my trip this week.

So my question is, what shouldn't miss in Joshua Tree NP (given that I'll only have after 5PM Monday to shoot? And what else within reasonable driving distance should I head to for my other evening here?

Anyone what to meet and go shoot I'm open to it.

After 5 for JTNP? That's pretty late. How about car camping one night then?
If so, top of my list is Jumbo Rocks. It's on the guide they give you when you pay to get into the park. And, take route 10 past Indio to the Southern entrance to the park, drive in slowly and see the wildflowers, at a multi year peak just now. Midweek should find camping space easily if you can do this.

Alternatives? I highly suggest the Coachella Valley Preserve in 1000 Palms, just past Palm Springs on the 10 going East. This is an amazing, truly amazing palm oasis. Another world in there under those dried fronds. Late day is good light here. Excellent photo spot, especially B/W, not well known.

I have to teach each day I here at the University of Redlands, thus no camping (didn't bring the equipment either since I'm typing this from a hotel room in Redlands.)

Have a good time. BTW, what's with the Aristotle quote? You teaching philosophy? I'm into Aristotle, trying to fill in my many gaps in history and philosophy from the usual defective American education. It's a big job.

Oak Glenn out by Redlands has some nice scenery, historic stuff..

Mountains either up to Arrowhead/Big Bear, or head south easterly to Idyllwid.

South to Temecula and drive up into the hills and ranchland, or about two hrs. from you, Anza Borrego State Park.
