Just returned from my local photography shop where they were stocking the shelves with Ilford paper and developer. When I inquired about this new development (previously nothing but Kodak) the manager said that they have decided to back a winner. Great news indeed!
It seems that the big yellow K no longer finds our small market worth it's attention. The rep.no longer visits the store and all questions sent to Kodak Canada go unanswered. Heck,if we as individual photographers find Kodak unpleasant to deal with can you imagine the frustration depending on K. as a business partner?
Although digital sales are still outpacing analog and Ilford film will be slow in coming it's wonderful to see those British products in town.
Mike
PS:I will be posting a film trade in the classified section.Just gotta try some HP5+. Hasn't been around here for 6 years.
I found yesterday that the closest photo shop, 50 miles away, is out of business. When digital accounts for most of the sales, the small shop cannot compete with the large department stores or even with the local drugstore.
