I seem to be having a contrast problem when printing on Ilford WT FB with my Durst dichro head. I usually proof on Ilford MG RC and then make final prints on FB. However if I use the same colour settings (grade 2 1/2) for the FB as I used for the RC print the contrast is completely different. The other night I tried using an Ilford under lens contrast filter and managed to get the same contrast range as the RC paper with colour settings. I seem to remember reading somewhere about Durst colour settings and Ilford FB paper, but I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem. I've tried two different colour heads on the Mod70 with the same result so I can rule out the filters fading.
I'm busy calibrating a DeVere 504 dichro so I'll be able to see if the problem is unique to the Durst.

If your funds stretch to it, invest in Durst Vario head for your Modular 70. Colour modules are fine if you also do your own colour printing, but VC modules are much, much better for printing on B&W VC papers.
Once you`ve used a VC light source, you will never want to go back to a colour head.
