Is this film still made? I'm asking for myself because I have ONE roll and I'm thinking of testing it, and also for some other people who seem to have gotten the information *somewhere* that it was discontinued.

Not discontinued EXACTLY, but not really widely selling, so Ilford dont do batches of it regularly. It's kind of a specialist thing I suppose, I think they're still gunning for a run of it this year though, in 35mm format. It's still on their website, so I'm pretty sure it's not discontinued.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Wanted to make sure, though.

Well, shit. That sucks. I'll tell everyone to buy it when they can find it. Thanks.

On the other hand: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Photokina is on so I suspect Simon Galley is not available for comment at the moment.

Cheers, Bob.

Leaving us back at post 1

Hrm. Well, here's hoping that Simon checks in from Photokina.

Indeed... quite confusing at the moment. I did shoot some in 120 and liked it with and without an IR filter but even if they do start making it again, Simon made the point that only 35mm will be made (see reply #1  ) so it's dead for me in either case, which is a shame.

Cheers, Bob.

Well, he says that they're looking into 120 due to the massive amount of people asking for it...so don't get too down yet.

At the apug conference he said that it would be offered in "minature" format again, which I took to mean 120 as well as 35mm. I think around January of next year was mentioned, but my memory is hazy on it.

Best,

Will

I think if you do a search on Simon Galley's posts on this site, you might find your answer. I seem to remember him posting about this a couple of months ago.

I would love to see this film readily available again. I had only a couple of rolls of it and it's long gone, and since all this speculation started haven't known whether or not I can count on it.

Still have a couple of rolls, but I don't share others' enthusiasm for the film. It has IR sensitivity, but not enough to create a real "IR look" like Kodak HIE. And it's grainy. I rather suspect it's lineage stems from speed trap cameras that are designed to work both day and night. At night, a strong IR strobe can catch speeders without blinding other motorists. Anyone know about this? Not too important, but just curious.

Hi, Stephanie.

Just in case you weren't sure, the Buy it Now price is for 5 rolls, not one. Here in Ottawa, they were selling for $8.00 CDN last year, so $10 US per roll is inflated, but not so bad if we might never see it again.

Cheers from chilly Ottawa.
