Hello all.
Is there a way to tell between ilford rc 4th and 5th version?
I see no differences on the box.

Was at B&H this morning, noticed some sizes have a circle "new" on the label, others didn't.
I'm assuming there has to be a different part number or something.

People there weren't of much help

Thank you!

I am surprised that RC4 is still being sold commerciallyas it must be several years since Ilford stopped making it It was labelled Ilford Multigrade IV (4) on the box RC5 is now called Ilford Multigrade Deluxe There is no reference to 5 or V. That was just a convenience adapted by users to distinguish it in the early days from its predecessor Multigrade IV

Have a look on the Ilford site to see the actual label

The Warmtone and Cooltone versions of Ilford's RC papers were improved a while ago. It is the most popular version of the paper - the neutral tone RC - that has the "New" labelling.
The Warmtone and Cooltone versions are labelled similarly: "Multigrade RC Cooltone" and "Multigrade RC Warmtone". The Portfolio paper is labelled "Multigrade RC Portfolio".
The most popular, neutral tone version went from being labelled "Multigrade IV RC" to being labelled "Multigrade RC Deluxe" - no V to be seen.

Ah ok, so yes it was new. Had no reference to iV.
I never really used the older version so was not familiar with that labeling. Since the boxes did not say "new" like others, didnt want to take a chance.
Wasnt sure if there might still be old stock out there.

Thank you very much Pentaxuser
