Ilford PQ universal developer and Ilford rapid fixer ratio.

The PQ dev is rated 1+9 and the fixer 1+4 and 1+9.wich ratio is better and what does it...My darkroom air temperature is 22.4° C.
I want to develop the more film I can and how many 120 film roll will be able to process?
And I want to push process a Neopan 400 120 wich ratio (1+4or 1+9) should be more appropriate.
I have also a Tmax developer (Ithink is 1+4 ratio) I use the Ilford rapid fixer at wich ratio...

Ilford no longer recommend or give dev times for normal camera use with PQ universal. It is possible diluted 1+19 or even 1+29 and the results are excellent, very fine grain, clean working & great tonality but with a slight speed loss.

Your better buying a specific film developer like ID-11 (D76).

The fixer is best used 1+4 for films.

PQ Universal at 1+9 should be fine, depending on your temp, time and agitation method. But 1+19 is fine, too...you just have longer times.

At 1+9, one liter of PQ will develop 10 rolls of 120 film -- at 1:19 one liter of PQ will develop 5 rolls of 120

Ilford reccomends their Rapid Fixer be used at 1:4 with film...one liter will fix 24 rolls of 120...2 to 5 minutes fixing time.

I have only used PQ Universal for 8x10 sheet film for a specific reason -- expanding the contrast range for platinum printing and carbon printing. Ian might be correct with his recommendation for normal use.

That´s what I did : 1+9 for the developer and 1+4 for the fixer. Developed an Ilford hp4 + 125 asa expired 2006 .Darkroom air tempreature 22°.3 C 6 minutes 45 seconds dev (6:30 recomended) and 2 minutes washing up , and then 4 minutes fixer. came out decent.. did a 3 fllash light set up 2 metz 45 cl and one small doing a backligth with my 500 c ! I´m like at my 9th develop ..preatty on it..
I went on digitaltruth awesome there is almost anything u need to know..I am on a scanner I think the v750 but I know here´s not the rigth place to talk..

The 1+4 ratio is standard with film. The 1:9 ratio also
works well. At twice the dilution the capacity is 1/2.
The time to fix is increased some. On the plus side
a higher dilution will turn out a cleaner quicker to
wash roll of film. Dan
