Thanks

Don't know about shipping costs, but AG Photographic has them in stock

https://www.ag-photographic.co.uk/mgiv-rc-portfolio-6x4-postcards-pearl-100-772-p.asp
Todd, I'd be interested in you having a look anyway, irrespective of shipping cost, and saying how this price compares to what you normally pay for Ilford Postcard if you are happy to do this. What Canadians pay may not be much different from what we pay in the U.K. but I note that from B&H it costs $1($42) less than it does in terms of GBP (£43)
Thanks

It is referred to here on the Ilford site: https://www.ilfordphoto.com/multigrade-iv-rc-portfolio-pearl
"MULTIGRADE IV RC PORTFOLIO is also available as back-printed postcards to make a unique gift or promotional material for your photographic business. - Order size 10x15cm (4x6")"
It is, of course, a different question as to whether Amplis (the sole Canadian distributor) is actually bringing any in to the country. There is none showing on their web "store".

Thanks for the reply’s.
I had seen it listed in the retail sites but since I could not find it on the Ilford site I questioned if it was old stock.

Good news! You can find this on the product page. "MULTIGRADE IV RC PORTFOLIO is also available as back-printed postcards to make a unique gift or promotional material for your photographic business. - Order size 10x15cm (4x6")"

I have a crazy buddy who used to back print DW Azo 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. He still has the letterpress and zinc die cuts for the backs. I like the Ilford postcards for snaps, the stock is nice and thick, and you don't need to buy 1000 sheets to get 4x6 paper. Plus you can mail it.

... I questioned if it was old stock ...

A few weeks ago one of the Ilford management team members was on a podcast, I believe it was the Sunny 16 podcast. One of the remarks he made was that Ilford does not coat any MG RC IV papers anymore in favour of the new MG V papers. So in a strict sense the portfolio paper that is available today is old stock. Perhaps fresh, but dis-continued.

Another thing he said was that more formats of MG V paper will become available over time. He did not mention specifics, but I would guess the portfolio range will become available with the new RC V coating.

The postcard paper comes in 100 sheet boxes.

Exactly, if you want regular Ilford RC paper in 4x6 sheets you get it in 1000 sheet boxes. I remember when you could buy 100 sheet boxes of Ilford in 3 1/2 × 5, 4×5 . The good old days .

One 8"x10" sheet cut carefully gives you three 4" x 6" sheets plus a little extra for a test strip.
30+ rounds of the APUG/Photrio Postcard exchange gives me some perspective on this :whistling:.

When my crazy friend was printing Azo postcards 35+ years back. We used my company's print shop. We went in after hours and one of the press operators ran the monster shear, we cut a 250 sheet box of 11 x 14 dbl. weight Azo into 3 1/2 × 5 1/2 cards. Each sheet made 8 cards. We used the Exit signs for safelight. That shear would cut 4 inch stacks of paper. Took about 10 minutes.
This was a huge investment for him. Everything worked out. I'm trying to remember if we cut the entire box, seems like we did. He had a huge old Eastman contact printer that would handle bigger than 8x10 negs. We were kids, boundless energy.
