Dear Apuggers,

Within the next couple of weeks in the USA and Canada ( rest of the World read on ....) a new promotional pack will be available at your ILFORD Photo resellers :

50 Sheets of MULTIGRADE IV RC Gloss or Pearl 10" x 8" complete with a full set of 6" ( 15.2 cm2 ) MULTIGRADE above lens filters inside the box.

As you will all know, MULTIGRADE filter packs are expensive to buy, and I can assure you they are expensive to make !, we have designed ( and priced ) this pack to offer exceptional value to our end users. In addition, filter sets on their own can sometimes be a little difficult to get a hold of, packaged this way, retailers are much more comfortable stocking the promotional item.

The box looks like a normal 10" x 8" MULTIGRADE Box, but with the MULTICOLOURED filters reproduced all over the box ( subtle...eh ).

For those of you who use our filters, they should be replaced from time
( depending on usage ) approx every 2 to 5 years to give optimum performance.

For those of you who may not have bought our filters in recent years, they are now solvent coated, this helps to avoid the dreaded WFOTF ( Wet finger on the filter ! ) and are even more robust than they used to be. So along with the other current USA / CANADA promo pack of 3 free HP5+ 135 -36 in MULTIGRADE IV RC 100's it should be a happy 'back to darkroom' period.

Rest of the World....I am really sorry...you are going to have to wait to Q1 2007 for the filter promo, it will be the same but with an 8.9cm2 set of filters and will also be available in 17.8 x 24.0. as well as 20.3 x 25.4 ( 10" x 8" ) of course currently in most markets outside of the USA and Canada we have the added value promotional packs on sale of MULTIGRADE IV in 17.8 x 24 and 20.3 x 25.4 with 10 extra sheets free in 25 sheet envelopes ( 35 ) and 20 extra sheets free in the 100 sheet boxes ( 120 ).

What is the suggested marketing of this pack? Just short of what it would cost to buy the box of paper and the filters seperately, or are the filters thrown in for free?

Adorama has the promotional pack listed on their web site for $49.95 USD. That's just $5 over the cost of the filters alone. Unfortunately, they are not yet in stock.

As to the US enlargers in Europe, again sorry, but our sales of 15.2 cm2 filters in Europe are tiny ( less than 5% ) so for promotional purposes it has to be the
8.9cm squared :

Say I stocked up on these. Say I buy 4. Then I put the filters away. Would they still be ok, say 10 years from now? (Meaning to ask, I suppose, is it only light that degrades their performance?)

Sorry, another question Simon: can the new filters be used under the lens? My under lens filters are looking a bit tatty (I only use 00 and 5 for split-grade printing) and it does not make sense to buy a whole new set of beneath the lens filters just to replace those two.

Sounds like an excellent promotion Simon.

Of course we have had the 3 free rolls of film promotion for a while (was this exclusive to UK/Europe or US too?) - something I have benefitted from greatly having printed all my wedding black and white this year on 10X8 MG IV. - built up quite a pile of free film - until I used it at other weddings.
