Ilford ortho + 10x12- got any?

Grrr, I have been trying to get my hands on some for ages. Just got a message form adorama that they won't be getting it any time soon.

Does anybody have a dozen or so sheets to spare, or know of a source where I can get some relatively soon?

What is the film speed of "that" Ortho? Would 11/14 Ortho type 3 (cut down) work? Its speed may be as low as 4 to 12.

Actually, I don't care too much about speed, I am duping/enlarging some smaller negs and will determine exposure with a strip test and then develop by inspection.

But I have rated o+ at 20-40 outdoors, with good results.

If I can find some 11x14 I would take that too!

At risk of sounding ignorant since I've never used the Ilford, why wouldn't the Freestyle APHS Ortho get the job done? It is asa 3 or so and they sell it in 10X12 already cut. I've had a Dead Link Removed rate using it as an inexpensive continuous tone film.

Jim, that's not ignorant at all, it may indeed be the ticket. I was hoping also to try dr5 processing on the o+ though, so that is my only concern- they may not have a protocol for the aphs ortho. Anyway, for normal duping it should work well, and thanks for the tip.

I didn't know that Ilford Ortho was available in larger sheet sizes. The blindingly fast film speed (iso40) would be just what the doc ordered for my wine barrel pinhole camera! I could load the thing in safelight conditions and my exposures would be short to minimize the effects of the suspension system on my '94 ex-USFS pick up truck/camera mount. If I could only get a hold of some 16x20!

Indeed,the ilford o+ is great, probably you oculd preflash it and get the sensitivity up a bit higher and get a bit more range. Preflashed RC paper is my next choice for pinhole; either way the developing is very easy.

A client just bought a 10x12 Canham. We were able to get fp4, hp5 and the ilford ortho as a special order... would you like me ask Wynit if they have more of it ... it's unlikely we bought them out. For some reason 10x12 is one of the few sizes this film is in.
