Selling a Ilford Multigrade 500 HLE/CLE/SLE head/Controller/PSU for a 10x8 enlarger. It is in good clean condition with not too much sign of use and very clean inside so light spread is very uniform - Fully functional and comes with the Probe. There is a mounting kit for I think a Devere enlarger, but I have never used that so cannot say for sure. It shows 240V input but I use on 230V no issues.
Power output is a 1200W from 4 bulbs

Transport/Delivery will difficult as the transformer alone is big and 20Kg and the head 14kg and will need shipping in two lots.

This is currently in France (Dijon area) and can be delivered to Switzerland or possibly UK if not urgent.

Price complete is 850 Euros plus delivery costs

I'd be interested in the de vere mounting kit if you'd sell it separately...?

Salut Alan,

I am in Switzerland and also interested. I need to do some research on mounting this and will get back to you ASAP. Have you ever had it mounted? What kind of chassis would one need?

Many thanks,

Alex.

I had it mounted on a 7x5 Floor standing Ampliator and made the mounts for that one - It fitted a Durst L 1840 and some of the large DeVere enlargers. What are you wanting to fit it to?

Thanks for the reply, but that's what I'm trying to find out

What it could be fitted to that could feasibly fit into a darkroom.

Well, most large enlargers 5x7 and bigger - Some would be easy to fit to, and some more difficult depending on the flatness of the stage. The Light panel is 280x280 mm and that needs to cover you negative, behind the panel you need about another 65 mm for the chassis going towards the column. The closer the light panel is to the negative the better. The you will need some sort of square frame with a light seal (as you see in pictures) to seal the head to the stage. I saw you use a L1200 with MG500 5x4 Head -Well that is more difficult to fit than for most large enlargers - I took most of a weekend to make up good looking brackets for my Durst 1200 with the smaller 5x4 MG500 but the 5x7 was much easier with the 500HLE as it has a flat stage and there is loads of room for alignment error with the 280x280 light panel to 5x7 carrier. The Durst 1200 needs very accurate alignment as the 5x4 light box is no bigger than negative.

You should sell it to me and ship it to America and only charge me shipping. (Sarcasm)

But really, someone must want this. I've never seen an Ilford model made for 8x10
