Ilford Multigrade 500 Head on Beseler 45mxt Without Adapter?

Can anyone tell me whether an adaptor is necessary to put an Ilford Multigrade 500 head on a Beseler 45mxt? Thanks, Charles

i have the 500 head and yes it has an adapter plate that screws into the top of the uper bellows platform.
