ilford MGWT yellow stain

i did a search on this and found ref to the stain but no info as to what causes it. i have a new pack of MGWT from B&H and noticed a yellow color all along the white borders of the print. can old developer ( liquidol 1:9 )old fixer TF-4 cause this ?
what can be done to get rid of it.

It can be caused by 'old' developer, far better you take it back to B&H and they will returtn it to us for checking.

Using an alkali fixer such as TF-4 without a good acid stop bath can cause staining as some developer may still be in the emulsion.

returning it is not an option as i have used a fair amount before i noticed the stain and i live in ga. i am going to start again and useing all freshly made chem and see if it still a problem in case my stop as Ian sugusted was bad.
