I am selling off all my darkroom supplies. Other interests have overtaken me and I would much rather see these in the hands of someone who would use them rather than sitting around my house. I would like to sell them as one lot and am asking $2500 OBO. The only shipping possible would probably be me driving it out to you so if you don't want to pick up we can try to work that out. A rough list is as follows, and I would be happy to answer any questions.

2 Beseler 45 VXL enlargers, one with base, one that is slightly disassembled and has a wall mount but I have never tried to use it.

1 Complete Ilford ICP 42 paper processor. Worked last time I tested it. The pump on the wash/dry part has been moved outside by the previous owner but works great. There are spare parts, rollers, covers, pump parts that come with this as well.

Beseler/Minolta 45A Colorhead. Appears to work fine, I just tested it, but I’ve never printed with it.

Beseler 45S Dichro, works great. This is the one I used to print with.

Various enlarger lenses in fair to good condition. I’ve printed with most of them no problem.

4 Beseler negative holders including a great condition #8343 4x5 anti-newton glass

Assorted manuals for the beseler colorheads and ilford icp42

11x14 and 16x20 easels as well as some smaller ones and a contact printing easel. Pad is coming of the bottom of the 11x14 a little and should be retaped but it’s no real problem.

3 big trays (>20x24) and a large paper safe.

2 smaller paper safes with paper in them but no guarantees about the paper.

Minolta camera and lenses

A couple various other bits and pieces

If nobody takes it all off your hands I would be interested in the ICP spare parts, shipped.

No offense intended. I think you are about $2000 over the market price. Unless you crate and ship. Unless you are in the right spot at the right time.
Best Regards

Two 45V-XL enlargers (no light source) sold discounted for $1000 apiece. Add $1000 for a light source for each enlarger...$2000 x 2 to start, just for an enlarger with no negative carriers and no lenses. Then there is the processor, and all the other odds and ends...lenses and negative carriers and more. For the best enlargers made by Beseler. Horrid to think $5000-7000 is only worth $500 in today's world. But I know $3000 of medium format stuff goes for $300 today.

My wife wants me to sell my 45V-XL and stuff, but I so hate the thought of getting 10% of what I paid for Excellent condition stuff, I will not list it for sale.

I bought 8500 USD of mint condition Zone VI model 2 8x10 and 5x7 enlargers, 3 Rodagon lenses 240mm, 80mm and 50mm. Both Enlargers have the last and the best VCCE cold light heads, closed loop via photocells hooked up to a Metrolux II timer. Came with the original Zone VI compensation time that runs any of the Zone VI heads with photocells. Unused 20 x 24 Cescolite trays, a Zone VI compensating developing timer, never been used. Loupes, other items the equipment was perfect, clean fully assembled.

I PAID 300 DOLLARS FOR ALL OF IT. The seller had been trying to get rid of it for years. They understood that I didn't need it,,I had to drive 5 hours round trip. They were happy to see it go. This is the world if you are not willing to go through the process of Ebay.

He'll I wish him or her the best of luck. But the new prices, that's what universities pay for NEW units with service and warranty. Most institutions can't buy used, not allowed.

Buyer beware of the light sources I've had to repair an obscure component on everyone of the Dichro 45S colorheads I've owned damn nice. Kevin Brown at KHB Photographix in Ontario is the only guy I know of that works on these heads. I've got 5 enlargers set up in my darkroom. One Beseler 4x5 came with a turret of Rodagons 150, 105 and 35mm, carriers cold light head from Zone VI the guy had local, pickup 125 dollars. I cut a deal with them for 250, for them to ship.

I bought a 45VXL for $100. Normally I wouldn't have paid that much but the woman seemed kind of hurting, said she couldn't afford to buy her husband a Christmas present. I'd had a good year so what the hell. It's a $100, not $1000.

Over the years I've cleaned out many a darkroom for ten cents on the dollar, even brought tools to disconnect water panels, like the Grinch stealing the crumbs too small for a mouse. Shame so few people care about darkrooms any more.

I wouldn't rely on the past successes others have had when it comes to enlarger pricing.
Locally, used 4x5 enlargers have become much more expensive, and much harder to find.
And there used to be lots of them.

+1. There used to be dark rooms galore on my local CL, now dusty old condenser 23C’s are listed for $500 without any carriers or lenses.

Listed and sold are two different things though. Enlargers on my local CL stay there for months no matter what the price.

That’s a fact- there is no way to see what things sell for on CL

I am willing to drive all this stuff out to whomever buys it if you live within a couple hundred miles of me at no extra charge. I know the price of this stuff is rather volatile and it's especially hard to price since I can't find any examples of an ICP 42. But I hope with delivery this is reasonable. And if you don't think so, I am more than willing to listen to any offers.

He already did let you know

The only shipping possible would probably be me driving it out to you so if you don't want to pick up we can try to work that out.

I doubt he meant he would drive it to LA. :D

Not sure what you mean by this, but if something has been sitting on here for sale maybe he changed his mind and would split up the lot...
Also I have a friend who can pick it up directly from him

Anyone with $2500 burning a hole in their pocket has a lot of options to spend it on...
(It's generally easier to find 50 people with $50 in their pocket that they're willing to part with than 1 person with $2500 who happens to want just what you have.).

I think your $500 estimate is too low. Even the Saunders 4 blade easel will sell for over $100 if in decent condition. There seems to be more demand for 4x5 enlargers than both smaller and larger formats.

I do believe the OP is making it a more difficult sell be selling as one unit. There are still a fair number of people who want a 4x5 enlarger, but far fewer who want 2.

I've got 2 of the VT1400 easels, yes in tip top shape, on Ebay 300 USD is a good price. The enlarger chassis' are valuable too if they are in great shape. None of this stuff is in great shape. If you could get it cheap, and find someone like KHB Photografix to bring it up to factory tolerance. The Cibachrome processor is junk.
Still best to find nice and drive for it, or get incredibly lucky on Craigslist.
It's going to be very difficult to find good, ie not worn out darkroom equipment.
