ILFORD glossy same as French "BRILLANT"?

It was already pointed out how "Brillant" occurs on the same primary label in English on the first box picture posted, so seems like an accidental misspelling. Anyway, all this is just fun speculation. I doubt we're going to get a best-selling Sherlock Holmes style mystery out of it. But in principle, if the Brilliant brand label per se has now been inherited by an inkjet paper, it just goes to show how far things can drift from their original application. But that occurs in many product categories.

Would suggest that you make test strips from the very paper you will finally be printing on... Papers of the same mfgr, description, etc. will vary in speed and even contrast to a degree. I cut 11x14" into 5-6 strips and use them.

Guys, are you still arguing about the equivalence between Glossy and Brillant? Can we close the case?
