Finally getting back to processing. I have shot three different films:
Ilford Panf Plus 50
Ilford Delta 100
Ilford Delta 3200
I want to process them in a rotary processor with Kodak HC-110, but I am having trouble finding any base starting points.
Anybody got suggestions as dilution, time, temperature, rotation speed? Should I invert the rotation or no?
I would start here: http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php and, maybe, cut the development time by 15%, if you start with the times given on the dev chart. You don't say how you're going to do the rotary processing or it what tank so it's hard to give a definitive answer here. Yes, you should ensure to invert the rotation.
HC-110 builds contrast quickly under constant agitation. It's why I switched to XTOL. But some folks report satisfactory results. As Alan said, start with the published times and reduce by 15%. Adjust to taste.
Guys, thank you both for the help. I will be developing in a Jobo CPP-2 processor with Lift. The reason I ask for the reversal, I seem to remember from years ago that reversal was to be used for Color (C-41) and Reversal (E6) processes but not for B&W. I could be wrong though.
I have been processing B&W roll and sheet film on my CPP-2 for 20+ years and I've always used reversal spin of the tank/drum. Yes, HC-110 can tend to build contrast quickly; try dilution H. That's what I use for Tri-X and have never had an issue with excessive contrast.
I cannot seem to find any information on dilution H. The information I find goes up to dilution F. Can you let me know what the dilution H is from stock concentrate?
