Good news. It would look as if Ilford's calculations on its stock vis a vis how long it would need to close for was by and large pretty accurate

Just in time, too. That grass didn't have much longer.

Great news, HP5 120 almost can't be found over here, and I an getting short of mg Classic in 91/2/12 and again finding it is difficult so hope they are back in full production soon
What is 91/2/12?

You mean I did all that panic buying for nothing!
Here's something to panic about, what if Ilford closes again?? You better order a lead lined walk in freezer and get a couple pallets of a nice mix of Ilford products

Hoping for the annual run of odd sizes to be cut
Running out of whole plate fp4

Great! Keep making film and keep your employees safe and well.

Wouldn’t that be 9 1/2 x 12?
In Word even as far back as 2003 there is a simply method for doing this which leaves no doubt that it is a fraction as each of the numbers i.e. 1/2 end up as half size. Is there a simple way to do this in the Photrio text box? If not then it's a pity since it's a forum where fractions which are clearly fractions are helpful to others reading the figures?

½ - in Windows, using the numeric keypad, hold down the Alt key and type 171, then release the Alt key.

That process works because that is how many Windows applications permit use of ASCII characters. In that particular case, I looked up the ASCII equivalent - 171 - and inserted it that way.
The other, often easier way is to use a function built into many word processors for insertion of various types of characters. In my case - I’m a long time WordPerfect user - I use the “Insert Symbol” function, which permits me to scroll through many extensive character and symbol sets, including ASCII characters, and to choose what I want. Then I just cut and paste what I want from WordPerfect into a post.
Some examples:
☺♀☻ßĻʥʉ█┱£½¼¾
FWIW, WordPerfect shows those fraction symbols in its Typographical Symbols set.
In addition, if you type a fraction in its long form - e.g. 3/4 - and then highlight it, there used to be a function available that would replace the highlighted text with its ASCII equivalent. I'm not sure if that function is still around.

Wow, what I kinda meant as a joke turned into a real discussion. I should talk to you guys more often!

But I still insist on using an “x” to mean “by”. So, rectangular formats should be written like 4 x 5” and 9.5 x 12 cm (or 9 1/2 x 12 cm).

I don’t mind fractional parts...
