Ilford DDX developer, Ilford FP 4 plus film

Hello! Just developed and scanned Ilford FP4 plus film using Ilford DDx developer ( never used before ). Shot at box speed 125, studio strobes, delution 1+4, 20celsius, dev. time 10 min.
I have attached scanned negative, no alternations.

Apart from a grain, there is a white dots or grain appearing on negative.I had a experience with Ilford LC-29 developer but not with DD-X. Is there a wrong combination DD-X - FP 4 plus ? Any thoughs?

It’s not the film or developer... that’s a great combination with a track record of proven success.

you might want to further investigate you methodology.

Yes,120mm. Could be, because one or two frames are without snow.
Gonna try to shoot another film, will see what happen

If you are sure that these spots are in the negative by examining with a powerful magnifying loupe then it might be worth examining if possible its distribution route to Latvia to check if there was any reason to believe it was badly stored

However it may also be worth contacting Ilford with all the details of where bought, details of film etc

Ilford did a few weeks ago give a statement on Photrio and instructions of what it needed to know from buyers

Interesting is that one frame was ok, free from white snow. I have one more FP-4 plus left, so gonna test shoot ( the same methodology, lighting, e.t.c ) tomorrow. Also, gonna contact local distributor and Ilfod as well, as you suggested.

I have seen similar 'snow' from scanned negatives that were processed using old fixer where sulphur? compounds had precipitated out of the concentrated solution. Filtering of the fixer using coffee filters wasn't good enough so I ditched the old fixer and bought a new bottle of Ilford Rapid fixer.
