Does anyone know if Ilford are exhibiting at Photokina? I can see Adox, Bergger, Impossible project, Tetnal and the Inkjet-version Ilford, but no mention of Harman. I appreciate that Photokina is a bit more of a tech show, and is probably a bit pricey to exhibit at, but seems a strange trade show to miss. Mind you, they may never have gone, in which case this post is irrelevant.

-) Harman does not participate

-) The "inkjet-version Ilford" is a german marketing firm owned by a japanese/australian consortium

There is no general attitude. For instance IlfordPhoto is absent, but Heiland is there.

We don't have a stand at Photokina this year although Harman are at the show and meeting partners most of the week.
(I'm on the train there right now !)

Once Photokina was a trade fair where anyone in the wide world of photography who was interested in sales in Germany or to a worldwide clientele showed up with a stand.

That character of the fair seems to have gone. So it is not only the decline of analogue photography that lessened my interest in it.

Foma and Maco are there too...
Yeap, Foma has a note on their website that they will be there.
If you are there, do you have any news from Foma? No info on the possibility of the Retropan 320 Soft on 120 film?
Thanks!

they've been there, but not at the last few and rarely open to customers, just large distributors.

O.K. - so Ilford wasn't there, and that's not good - in fact very bad. Why all the hoopala about "film thriving" at PhotoKina in the first place here on APUG?
I didn't see anything under "Kodak" either
Crazy!

Kodak did not attend as the cinematographic business left Photokina many years ago.

But Kodak Alaris was there.

Do you have any idea how much it costs to rent to spot before Aquina and send over team for a week or two, sitting them up in a hotel pay their expenses? Isn't really a good investment for GuIlford?

But in the good old days there even was a one-man enterprise as Fotowand exhibiting, who came there on his own just with a table.

I rather see it as a matter of attitude. Of the potential exhibitors to the fair and the fair management to potential exhibitors.
And of potential visitors to the fair...
