I am a volunteer with Wessex Cancer Trust in the UK, and we have a donated Ilford 500S power supply. I would usually list this type of item on ebay, but can't find any listed at present, so not sure whether it has a value or not. Please can someone offer advice.

Any spare parts for the Ilford 500 system have a value. As to what the exact value would be is difficult to say.

Your best bet is to circulate the information on forums such as this one and the more UK orientated ones - If you are willing to ship the item, it will garner more interest that a "collection only" sale.

I'd say yes, but limited.

1) Where is the rest of the system, complete systems are certainly worth more.
2) Can you test it? Or do you have to sell as untested/for parts or repair?
3) If you do list it post good pictures of the connectors, there are some variations.

Best of luck.

Put it on ebay as an auction, let people that are in the market for that item determine the price. My guess would be that the value of this item would be as a spare for a current 500 system user.

Put it on eBay in Darkroom and Developing, and I for one will make a bid as a spare - I had one power supply fail a few years ago and waited some time before one came up on eBay. so a spare would be handy. Make sure to photograph the electrical rating plate, and tell us whereabouts in Wessex you are as postage will be a factor and it may be simpler for the buyer to collect. Big place, Wessex.

I have a Multigrade 500 system set up on a De Vere 504, now using an older but functional 500S power supply and head as the original unit failed after being repaired at some significant cost by the previous owner. I'm not sure how much time these units have left considering 20 year old electronics. Hopefully someone will develop a suitable LED enlarger head for the De Vere 504.
