Hello,

I am attempting to gain access to the fan section in my Ilford 500h head. I don't want to remove more screws than I need to and have found the diagram not easy to read.

Does anyone have any experience with which to remove?

Thank you for any advice.

I guess you mean this diagram? Yes, it is not the clearest...

It is a long time I did this on my own head, and can't for sure remember how I did it.

However, looking at both the diagram and my own Ilford head, I think the diassembly starts with removing the side panels, and lifting out the front door and top plate in the process. You then gain access to two bolds or screws at the front top that seem to hold the ventilator assembly (51 in the diagram is one of them).

To remove the side panels, it seems you need to unscrew two screws at the bottom of the head front and back, and two screws at the top of the head, so four screws per panel.

Why do you need to get to the fan? I have the same head and the fan never turns off. I assume there is a thermostat that has gone bad…

Are you sure the fan never turns off?

Mine will shut down after a few minutes inactivity, then come back to life once the controller buttons are touched.
