Hi

I just bought a 504 for b/w and I have a few questions
what is the orange filter for under the lens ?
Mine is broken

The 5x4 mixing box has cardboard inside that bends inward which makes a shadow on the projected 5x4 neg
how can I bend it back
I thought of glue but it gets very hot when the lamps are on

thanks

I would think that the filter would have been red and used to project your image onto paper without exposing it (like a safelight) for alignment, but I could be wrong. It could also be a regular old under the lens filter holder.
