Does anyone still use Ilfobrom Galerie?
Can they purchase it here in Canada in 16x20?
I have found it in 11x14, and was really impressed, especially when I have toned it.
It can easily become a printing favourite.

I have ordered a pack of 11x14" Galerie some time ago but not used it yet. What impressed you about it and which toner did you use?
I´m eagerly looking forward to print some negs on it...

It's been my favorite paper since it was introduced. Can't say how it compares to anything else, since I don't use much anything else.

Yes, I print on GALERIE :

You obviously have to take everything I say with a large pinch of salt, as no matter how I try to play with a straight bat.... I have somewhat of a vested interest. I really do not think anything compares to GALERIE, its graded, the best D.Max, image colour to me cool side of neutral and amazing 'sparkle' it has depth, I love it, always have and always will....to inject some balance, it is our most expensive paper, for a reason.

You can also obviously selenium tone it, but I don't.

Totally agree Simon, the best paper, my main paper in darkroom

If you don't need to do splitfilter printing and don't want extreme high or low contrast, nothing beats it. Absolutely nothing !

Dear Karl-Gustaf,

You are spot on, as always its the neg that makes the print, not the other way around....whilst split printing can be very handy its normally because of a neg issue.

Thank you everyone
I see I have made a good choice and observation.
Just wish it was more readily available here in British Columbia.

TONING: I use ILFORD Selenium toner and boy does it do a beautiful job ... depending upon what it is you want it to do that is.
One of the things I have come to be excited about is toning my prints, whether for optimum permanence and D-Max or these two things plus a colour shift; I don't consider my work complete without toning.

Have you contacted Beau Photo in Vancouver? They usually can get everything or as was already pointed out, Big Camera Workshops (an APUG sponsor) is pretty good as well.
