Afternoon everyone
Seeking more help from the shutter experts out there.
I’ve ‘inherited’ a couple of Ilex shutters.
No.3 Universal and
No 4 Acme Synchro
The No 3 seems to be working (not checked speeds yet) but the release lever stays down after firing and has to be manually lifted again before next firing; should it auto-return and as it’s not what could be the problem?
The No 4 was received in bits (I’m assuming all there).
I’ve done some basic shutter cleaning but I’m not familiar with the Ilex group and can’t work out how to reassemble. Obviously, the printed ring goes on last but in what order do the other two go (and which way up)?
And where do the other bits (spring and washers) fit? I assume the two little screws hold the top ring on?
Trawling the net has shown lots of pictures but never quite detailed enough and often seemingly different configurations. I get the impression these were considered basic but reliable shutters and that they were intended to run dry?
Any help much appreciated.
